Yes language is one of the things that Shirley Brice Heath really emphasizes in her book Ways with Words. Like I mentioned in my response on the blog, I cannot interpret most of those expressions used by the mill workers in the text. And as Hamoud rightly said in his response to mine, she was able to understand the language of the people because she lived with them for a long time. And that is in fact the job of an enthographer.
